The new "Edge Sense"
HTC U11 featurse a new way of interacting with the phone by literally squeezing the sides. A light squeeze opens Google Assistant, and a harder squeeze takes the users to the camera app. Once the smartphone is in the camera, pressing down on the lower portion of the rim acts like pushing a shutter button. It is an interesting idea, known as "Edge Sense". Later in the year according to HTC third-party apps will be able to take advantage of these squeezy features such as Google Maps.

Personal Virtual Assistant
HTC U11, 64GB has an integrated virtual assistant known as Amazon Alexa; Alexa burst into life when given a wake-word (a voice command). It features four microphones dotted around the smartphone hence, Alexa can hear its user from quite a distance. Alexa will work with its regular skill set, so the user shall be able to control their smart home.

Boom Speakers
HTC U11, 64GB features front-firing BoomSound speakers. According to HTC these speakers are designed to be better than ever. Sound is pumped from behind the screen.

Distortion Free & Clear Audio
HTC U11, 64GB does not have a headphone jack, it rather offers a pair of USonic In-ear buds that feature active noise-cancelling, and there's also a 3.5mm dongle which houses a built-in DAC that HTC claims should improve the sonics.

Commendable Camera Performance
HTC U11, 64GB offers a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera that has new wider f/1.7 aperture for silky bokeh and improved low-light performance, while an HDR Boost feature reduces lag when shooting with high dynamic range. The camera will focus in 0.3 seconds thanks to the updated phase-detection autofocus. On the front there’s a 16MP sensor with an f/2.0 lens and an ‘UltraPixel’ mode for improved low-light performance resulting in great pictures and selfies.
