It is often quite difficult for phone enthusiasts to keep up with the Honor smartphones due to the firm’s sheer amount of releases, the Honor View 20 is quite peculiar due to its on-screen camera.
Following the launch on January 22, the Honor View 29 is now available in the Europe and UK. In China, however, it was available around the late December of 2018.
With the base model starting from 499 Euros, the View 20 comes in a number of versions and color. Moreover, the phone comes with a 128 GB storage and 6 GB RAM, available in Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue.
A free Honor Watch Magic is being offered to users who will buy this smartphone from participating retailers before the 6th of February 2019. The new smartwatch by the company, named Honor Watch Magic is worth 179 Euros itself. While the Phantom Red version is also available in some countries, it has not made it to the UK.
Specifications of Honor View 20
As far as the specifications go, the phone is full of some noteworthy features.
First of all, it features an on-screen camera. This simply means that the camera is completely covered with a screen rather than in a notch.
According to the company, a very complex 18-layers tech stack has been used, due to which the front camera gets embedded in the screen’s display area. As a result of this, the display area gets extended up to 100 percent.
The View 20 is a phone first of its kind, featuring an amazing 48 MP rear camera. Moreover, the camera also contains an Artificially Intelligent Ultra Clarity mode. This allows the camera to create high-definition images at 48 MP. On the other hand, the front camera is a whopping 25 megapixels, perfect for capturing selfies and video-calls.
The Honor View 20 features a 6.4 inches LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2310 pixels. While the pixel density is nowhere close to Samsung Galaxy Note 9 pixel density, it is good enough for the price point.
One of the best things about Honor View 20 is its display. In case you are a fan of ultra-vivid color that is normally associated with OLED, you get it in this phone. This can be changed from within the settings.
The battery itself is a huge one i.e 4000 mAh with great stamina. According to tests, the phone takes around 1h and 12 minutes to charge fully via its USB-C Charging port.
Moreover, even after several hours of streaming, plenty of WhatsApp usage and social media idling, the Honor View 20 still leaves behind as much as 40% charge by the end.
The Honor View 20 has quickly become popular among the masses, especially those who want to get the best value within their budget. At a base price point of 499 Euros, this phone indeed provides an unbelievably good camera, nice battery life, and great overall value.
