Nokia 9

In the month of January 2017, Nokia seemingly made a comeback in the Android market with the release of the Nokia 6. Now, it has almost been two years since we are looking forward to the arrival of Nokia 9.

It looks like the wait is finally over, as Nokia 9 is expected to arrive near the end of February 2019.

According to a number of predictions, the full name of the smartphone is expected to be Nokia 9 PureView. Previously, the PureView cameras have been associated with a very high count of megapixels. Since the camera wars in smartphones have now reached to new heights, we can expect a give-lens crazy camera assembly at the rear of the new smartphone.

Recently, the PureView trademark was purchased by HMD, the parent company o Nokia. It has also invested in Pelican Imaging and a startup that revolves around multi-lens cameras. Hence, this all may actually be very true.

The Nokia 9 was expected to get launched near the end of January. However, that now seems unlikely since January is just nearing its end. The next expected date for its launch is around the 25th of February.

As far as the cost of the new Nokia 9 goes, we can make a number of speculations. We are definitely sure that this new smartphone by Nokia will cause more than the Nokia 8 Sirocco at the very least. This phone currently costs £649. Hence, we can expect that the new Nokia 9 will cost between £700 and £750.

Based on original tip-offs, we can speculate that the new Nokia 9 will contain a Snapdragon 845 processor. This is because nearly all of the current flagships contain this chip. Essentially, it is a 10nm that packs great efficiency and power in itself. Hence, the Nokia 9 can be expected to have a butter smooth performance and response. While the 845 chip is powerful enough, it would be quite a surprise for everyone in case this new phone is fitted with the newly announced 855 chip.

Another interesting rumour says that the Nokia 9 will have a fingerprint sensor built into the display, which is a 5.99 inches HDR panel having a resolution of 1440 x 2960. Moreover, we can also expect it to have a 6 GB RAM at the very least, with base storage of 128GB, along with a battery capacity of 4150 mAh.

Rumours regarding the software say that the new Nokia 9 will run on Android One. Just as it was with the Nokia 8 Sirocco, we can expect no headphone jack one again. However, this should not bother most of the people as the headphone jack is now considered as a technology of the past. At the same time, good water-resistance and wireless charging are also expected!

Most of the information as of yet is based on rumours and speculation. So brace yourself for a number of surprises once the phone gets launched.
