The OnePlus 6
The OnePlus 6
The latest product from the Chinese company OnePlus, the OnePlus 6 smart-phone is incredibly popular thanks to its innovative design and consumer-friendly price tag. Retailing at only $579 (or €569) for the most expensive model (a significantly cheaper cost than smart-phones from rival companies such as Apple and Android) this smart-phone has been purchased by over one million people in the last month alone.
One of the more notable aspects of the OnePlus 6’s new design is that it has switched over to a glass front as well as a glass back. Additionally, the OnePlus 6 is available in three unique color options: Mirror Black, Midnight Black, and Pearl White.
In regards to screen specifications, the OnePlus 6 stands out from other smart-phone brands by featuring a 6.28-inch Optic AMOLED screen panel. This screen features a resolution of 2280 x 1080, but the most notable thing about the OnePlus 6’s screen is the tremendous color saturation and brightness it provides; this is because the screen features AMOLED technology which enhances color contrast and vividness in order to provide you with a better visual experience.
The OnePlus 6 also features a notch on the top of the screen area, a design change that has been seen in other smart-phones within the last few years; this design alternation allows for status indicators (such as the battery level indicator) to be further up in the corner and out of the way.
In regards to technical specifications, the OnePlus 6 features a Snapdragon 845 processor as well as the Adreno 630 GPU. This combination means that the OnePlus 6 phone runs very fast; games and apps should open more quickly and run faster. Furthermore, this phone comes with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM (depending on your preference), so it’s easy to see that the OnePlus 6 is one of the most powerful smart-phones currently on the market.
Furthermore, the OnePlus 6 also has a Dual SIM tray and possesses the capacity to support two LTE connections at the same time. And while the OnePlus 6 features the same battery as the OnePlus 5T (with a 3,300mAh capacity), the OnePlus company assures its customers that battery performance will remain consistent and reliable despite the improvements showcased by the 6. This is because the Snapdragon processor is so effective and efficient that it optimizes the phone’s power usage, creating a better overall performance.
In regards to software specifications, the OnePlus 6 features the OxygenOS. Based largely on the Android 8.1 Oreo software, this operating system is quite similar to the software used in the OnePlus 5 and 5T phones.
One notable addition to the software of the OnePlus 6 is the Gaming 2.0 mode; this helps to boost app loading speeds (particularly for games) while also prioritizing which apps to keep open and which apps to shut down when you’re running games and need a higher level of performance.
As you can see, the OnePlus 6 is a fabulous product to choose if you want a smart-phone that is affordable yet still very powerful and with a vibrant screen.
